Friday update 13/6/14

E3 has been and gone, and one of the only new things that I was interested in was the Master Chief Collection. The other things being Halo 5 (which there were not many details of, because it is so far away from release), and the Dark Souls 2 DLC (which I am intentionally not looking into because I’ve not even booted up DS2 yet). I’m not sure if the Halo collection will be good or not – the multiplayer for all four titles included is all bundled together under one over-arching matchmaking umbrella – so you could go from dual-wielding on a Halo 2 map to having armour abilities in a Halo 4 gametype to having to manage equipment in a Halo 3 match to all of a sudden having invincible vehicles in a game on the original Blood Gulch in Halo: Combat Evolved. It could be a little inconsistent, and quite off-putting for new players. I’m a little sad that Reach and ODST aren’t included, but I expect them to be added later on via DLC. Quote me on that.

We have a new RGF this week (Key & Shield) on the community site, check it out. On the YouTube channel, I teabag blujams, and we take a look at the Halo-themed world in the recently released Halo Mash-Up for Minecraft. I recently finished Dark Souls (although the video probably won’t be up until next week or maybe the week after), and I mentioned something during the end credits that really needs to be expanded upon. Ah, you know how I like to write stuff about games.
