Facebook update #2

So, it’s been a week, roughly, and I’m up to 175. Three quarters of my stupid random personal challenge completed.

Other than that, I’ve not really been up to much. The Batman canvas is pretty much finished – keeping to my personal target of creating one “finished” piece of art a month. I feel that something has got to give if I want to make real progress with my art though. I don’t watch TV, need to work at Asda for the money, and going out on the odd occasion doesn’t exactly hamper me massively, so I’m thinking it has to be videogames, to be honest. I won’t stop playing altogether, I could never do that. They inspire me too much and I enjoy them too much! But maybe cut out all the easy Achievement games that I only play to bump up that silly little number and don’t really enjoy, get back to just playing games I like the look of, and completing them to the best of my abilities. When I am on my deathbed, I don’t really think I would appreciate looking back and seeing that I had 2,000,000 Gamerscore, but had never made a living from my art.

Going back to this post I made in 2010:

I don’t mind playing competent, easy games to full completion, and I like playing good games that I quite enjoy (but only getting as much Gamerscore from them as my skill level allows), but I draw the line at games that are just plain bad.

I think I could get along just playing the good games that I quite enjoy (but only getting as much Gamerscore from them as my skill level allows). I need to draw up a schedule, and to cut out all the stupid virtual grinding, and get grinding in real-life. I’ll let you know how that goes.
