Night Lights: After Dark

Night Lights: After Dark

This was originally posted on the now-defunct Random Fury! videogame blog. Hello again, and welcome to yet another edition of Random Game Friday. I'm here with another game for you today, this time it is Night Lights: After Dark. Now, as far as I can tell, this is essentially more levels of last weeks game, Night Lights, which leaves me…

Friday update 2/5/14

We went and had our twenty week scan on Monday - baby Flipper doing fine. Two arms, two hands, two feet, four heart chambers, two kidneys, one brain, one spine, and two very long legs. We knew they'd be tall, but for the lady doing the scan to stop doing the scan and say "Wow, long long legs" is probably…

Night Lights

This was originally posted on the now-defunct Random Fury! videogame blog. Hello everybody, welcome to another Random Game Friday. Seeing as it is Friday, here's a random game: Night Lights. Now, this game is pretty similar to a lot of other games I've played on here - I don't try to pick ones like this all the time, honestly! Anyway,…

When you think about things in ways you never expected…

…because you did something stupid.

I feel like I may need to elaborate a little more on what I wrote yesterday – it was a little obtuse. It’s all very well me saying that I don’t want to do this or do want to do that, but if I don’t act on it then things will never change. The only person who can change me is me. The only person who truly gets value from a motivational quote is someone who understands it and acts on it. My viewpoints on a lot of things have changed – some recently, some a long time ago. I drew a couple of Adventure Time sketches the other day. I used to have a hang-up about fan-art, in that if it didn’t look exactly as the original creator or an authorised, in-house artist had drawn it, then it was “bad”. Like a lot of other childish viewpoints I used to hold, this has slowly evaporated over time, and I have come to realise the importance of an artist translating characters into their own unique visual style.

Happy 25th Gameboy-day!

So, the GameBoy is 25 years old today, what a way to make me feel old. I remember when I got my first Gameboy - although I can't pinpoint the exact dates, I roughly know the period. I had left school, and finished college, it must have been between me working at House of Toys in Debenhams and going back…

When you do something stupid…

...and it makes you think about everything in ways you never expected. I mean, we're all here, on this planet, to do what exactly? Procreate? I guess. Now don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to becoming a parent in September, how could I not be, but this world we have created for ourselves often reveals itself as a…
TimeSwap

TimeSwap

This was originally posted on the now-defunct Random Fury! videogame blog. Random Game Friday this week features a nice little game called TimeSwap. As expected with a title like that, the game is based on time-manipulation - the first five minutes are great fun as you shift back and forth seemingly at random, but it soon takes the form of…
