Gizmo. We let him down.
He died one year ago today. He was an awesome cat.
In the end, we let him down. We never realised how bad his breathing had got. We took him to the vets on a Monday, he had a blood test and had antibiotics on the Wednesday. When they had little to no effect and he got worse, we were scheduled to take him to the vets, we were the last appointment of the day, so he could be kept in overnight if need be.
Bi-yearly update 2014
Hey, this is going to be an epic update, a half-year special so to speak. I’m going to go back and take a look at the targets I made at the start of the year and see how I’m doing with them.
With regards to the Fitness Targets – I’ve done nothing. I don’t know why. Can I not be bothered? Or do I feel like I should be doing something else? I think I feel like I should be drawing or recording videogame footage, but then, I don’t really spend enough time doing those things either, so I have no idea. I reckon I should draw up a timetable, allocate my time. It would illustrate that I have more time than I think I have. But then again, now I’ve said that I’ll put off drawing it up and won’t change until I’ve drawn it up. And a plan like that is ridiculous to think about now seeing as something that I never imagined would happen at the start of the year is happening…
An update to the update
Friday update 18/4/14
600th post spectacular – Questions galore
Ok, so the numbers say that this will be post number 600. I feel like I want to do something special for it, and after having a little think, I remembered that I’m currently reading a book on my Nexus called “Be creative” by Infinite Ideas – it was free and has so far given me a few decent tips. In one chapter it had a list of questions you should ask of yourself in order to understand yourself, because how often do you actually stop and question things?
So, here we are with the questions and answers. I endeavoured to be as brutally honest as I could be and I gave each question a lot of thought. I ended up spraying my thought process on to the page as I was typing, and I did repeat myself a little, so be warned!
WARNING!!! VERY LONG POST!!!
This post is going to have the most tags ever.
Reminiscence
I’ve had a funny old day today.
I’ve spent it mostly on here doing ArtRage paintings, on YouTube looking at old videogames, and in my head, thinking about stuff. I learned that NiGHTS into Dreams is coming to the Xbox Live Arcade on Friday, and that got me thinking about the old Sega Saturn – and what an amazing console it was. I’ve owned two in my time, one was packed off to make way for an N64 (such a bad move looking back now), and the second one was sold because I felt I never played it enough to warrant keeping it. Oh, and because we were moving into The Big House and we’d have nowhere near enough room to even think about having all my consoles set up. Jane bought me the second one for Valentines Day one year, she is so awesome. It’s weird thinking back about all those old consoles, I’d love to still own them, but they, along with all their games, take up so much space. I know I could download emulators and ROMs and play all these old games again, but there’s something special, some intangible feeling, about playing a physical copy on an actual console, something that digital copies can’t emulate.
I’ll leave talking about NiGHTS until I’ve played it again, but here are some of my favourite games for the Sega Saturn.
