2014 fitness and other random targets

I need a new routine. If the start of a new year spurs that change, then so be it. I can understand that some people don’t like those people that make “resolutions”, but I’m all for them to do so – if making a resolution makes that person sit up and admit they have a problem they’d like to fix, isn’t that the first step? I remember years ago, the first attempts I made at stopping smoking were New Years Resolutions. Sure, they failed, but they were a step in the right direction – I did eventually stop.

As I said, I need a new routine. I was just talking to Jane about this actually, she reminded me to investigate joining a gym – an off-peak membership seems a good idea. Give me a reason to get up early in the morning, go off and exercise for a bit, and I’d burn fat all day that way too. It’s easy for me to go to bed early and actually sleep, but getting up in the morning is the tricky bit. Bed is just so nice. So yeah, I think I may join a gym in 2014. It’s the next logical step. Free weights are good, but I want to squat. Heavy. And deadlift.

I mentioned in the 2013 Targets that I wanted to start making my own lunch – this never happened simply because I didn’t man-up and say I wanted to make my own lunch. It will only ever happen if I say I will make my own lunch! Similarly, I really need to watch what I’m eating in 2014. I would love to go paleo, but I don’t think I could manage it full on. Wholemeal wraps would be the only concession though, to be fair. I think I should stop drinking Guinness for sure, and go back to the Tequila. And stop drinking sugar-laced coffees late at night! Early to bed, early to rise should be the new tactic.

Other random things I want to do in 2014:

Put the forum in the blog! Encapsulate the existing phpBB forum inside the newly formed WordPress powered blog for the benefit of all mankind. If you follow this blog at all you will know why I want to do this.

Do some YouTube videos. I think I know why I’m putting it off, it’s because I don’t like my voice. But hey, fuck it right? It is my voice and there’s not much I can do to change it!

Investigate Google AdSense. Coupled with the last one about doing some YouTube videos really. Ads on them and on the blogs may result in a little bit of income?

Get some more tattoos. I never got any in 2013, while Jane got like three new ones! Can you believe that?

Read more books. And draw more pictures based on those books. I said I’d do that but I never really did.

Work at Asda less. Self-explanatory. So I can focus on what I want to do with my life. For too long I didn’t know what I wanted to do. Now I do know. Let me do it.
