After last nights debacle, I thought I’d need some new weapons. As the plan is to go Gunmaster, I’d concentrate on Rifles, Shotguns and Twin Handguns for now. Laser Cannons have to wait until I’m a Fortegunner, and that seems a long way off yet!
Yet another thing that makes starting now alot easier than it was originally is the shop search function. Using player shops before the Ambition of the Illuminus expansion was painful to say the least… But we knew no better! Finding the best price meant trawling through every player shop on the list, making a note of each price as you went. You could even miss the cheapest price of an item if it wasn’t on the first page of results! The new shop search, combined with the fact that there are alot more weapons on the market, for much cheaper prices, means I can snap up some real bargains.
I picked up a very bargainous 7/8 Blaster, a cheap Yohmei Shotgun and some 5/10 2* Twin Handguns. Hey, this may seem paltry, but A: I can’t exactly use Blackbulls right now, my ATA is miniscule, and B: It would be too easy to just borrow money from one of my other characters and buy the best stuff, tokkybot is going to “live off the land” so to speak, only using Meseta or equipment she herself earned.
Back to the Linear Line then. With my new Rifle in hand, I actually felt quite powerful. As the title states, I was doing over 100 damage with Light bullets. Already, Unsafe Passage C and Fight for Food C felt too easy! Feeling plucky, I stepped up a gear, and selected Unsafe Passage B. Although the enemies did take alot more of a beating, the EXP was amazing, I levelled up twice in one run. Making it to the end took alot of time, and the rewards were slight (still way off getting Ranger 2), but the feeling of triumph was immense.
Where to next though? The B run took ages, and I was feeling very sleepy, I thought I’d better call it a night. As far as Linear Line goes, C was too easy, B too much of a chore, maybe it’s time I tried my luck in Raffon Meadow or the Mizuraki Conservation District. There was once a list on PSUpedia that had the lowest level requirement missions at the top, working down to the missions with the highest level requirement, but I cannot seem to find it now. That would’ve been ideal to follow.
