The Mission – updated

So I had a look at my old plans and it was glaringly obvious why I was drifting, rudderless. Apart from learning to drive and buying a car, and taking the next step in my counselling journey, I’d ticked off everything that was possible to tick off. And even then, there are plans in place to complete those objectives.

A level 4 counselling course is on the cards, and I’m starting up driving lessons again in September, an intensive course of twenty hours or so over a couple of weeks. Due to the coronavirus clogging up driving instructors time, and the timing of the summer holidays, that’s the earliest I can fit it in. But it’s on the radar. I’ve got enough money to outright buy a car, and I’ve got my eye on one I fancy – I may well pull the trigger on my day off on Friday.

A lot of the things were ongoing – work out, walk more, read more books, listen to audiobooks, and honestly? I’ve been slacking on them. I worked out yesterday and today though, and I’m planning on walking to or from work tomorrow and Thursday. I’m listening to an audiobook right now, and my Kindle is on charge – I can’t read if it has no battery.

I’m so glad I kept the old plans as they are an amazing visual reminder of how far I’ve come since the event that triggered their necessity: my breakdown in February 2017.

But now the way forward is clear. A new plan. The Mission – updated.

Let’s move forward. Towards the future.
