Yeah, I heard there would be a spin-off, one for Wolverine and the other for Magneto.

Yea I heard about them too, the Wolverine one is definitely in the works, and the Magneto one apparantly looks at his origins (presumably as a prequel where he becomes evil).
I also heard, dependng on how this did, they may be another story arc plus a Kitty Pryde movie ( 😆 )
Back in 2006, folks!
I haven’t seen Wolverine: Origins and I don’t think I want to, I’ve heard it’s not great. I did, however, go and see The Wolverine, which I thought was pretty good. While it wasn’t Wolverine’s Japanese Saga verbatim, it was a decent adaptation and I didn’t even mind the version of the Silver Samurai we got. And of course, the Mageto Origins became X-Men: First Class, which I thought was very good.
And here we are now, with Kitty Pryde’s movie, only with Wolverine doing the time-travelling instead of Shadowcat. This Days Of Future Past trailer gives me fucking goosebumps all over.
Those feels!
It looked more Age Of Apocalypse than Days Of Future Past to me, with Bishop and those Egyptian looking backdrops – And even more so when Blink appeared.
As I’ve got older I have realised that things that work in comics probably won’t work on film, and vice versa of course, which kinda makes me want to go back and re-watch all those old X-Men films. I never sat through Thor, Captain America, any of the Iron Man films or Avengers Assemble thinking “This never happened in the comics therefore it is shit”. I just went along for the ride, enjoying the story for what it was.
Is it because so many comics, franchises even, are rebooted and stories re-told nowadays, that it’s easier for me to see familiar characters do unfamiliar things? Or have I just grown up?
Anyway, whatever, X-Men: Days Of Future Past looks like it might well be pretty fucking good.
