Day eight, we drove home.
The cats were happy to see us when we arrived, as were the boys.
There not being any scales in our apartment, I had no idea if I had put on weight. Well, I say I had no idea, but it was really obvious to be honest – I was drinking 2-3 pints of lager every night, so of course I was going to put on weight. I weighed myself – the results were not good. Over 17 and a half stone – Jesus. Let’s look at the timeline:
14 stone 12 – October 2012 – My lowest weight.
15 stone 10 – December 2012 – One major factor to losing the weight was to not look fat in my wedding photos.
After my wedding in November 2012 I put on weight because I was happy I didn’t look fat in the photos, and I felt happy that I’d married Jane and I was content and comfortable in myself.
17 stone 9 – June 2013 – Before our Honeymoon I was generally eating more because I had stopped smoking, I felt like I had to do something to pass the time on breaks at work, and I had a bigger appetite – not necessarily for good things either. As I mentioned above, I drank a fair bit on our Honeymoon, and I have noticed that a lot of my clothes are getting a bit tighter.
I just need to knuckle down and have a little restraint. Get back into the habit of getting up earlier and rowing for a bit. Eat more like a caveman – cut out all the refined shit.
I’d rather suffer the pain of discipline now than suffer the pain of regret in the future.
