Fitness targets

It’s got me thinking, the creative target thing. Maybe I need to have targets… No, no, no, I already have targets. Maybe I need to make these targets public?

Well first of all, and this may come as no surprise, I’d like to stop smoking. I’m starting to feel the effects badly now – I dread catching a cold, and, thanks to Ethan (he brings it back from school like twice a year), when I get tonsillitis, it is incredibly painful. The money is factoring in as well to be honest, it’s £180 a month I could be spending on other, more essential things.

I still do a bit of weight work – I can lift things now that I would have struggled with a year or two ago – but I’d like to start some cardiovascular stuff as well. Jane is well up for running, and I’ve been meaning to start for ages. Maybe get a Kinect and have some videogame fun-time, and do Jane’s Davina DVD with her once a week as well.

Eating is an issue – I’m not really the master of my own destiny concerning food when I’m at home as Myrtle does the majority of the cooking. I miss out on a few heavy meals as I work three nights a week, and I specifically ask that a roast dinner is not cooked for me on a Sunday – I prefer to get 100g of chicken, some fruit and a pint of milk for the way home. Ideally I’d like to forgo her lunches as well, maybe do a fruit smoothie or a protein shake instead.

All in all, I’d like to be healthier, have more energy, and look good naked.
