Friday update 29/8/14

So ready for Flipper to appear now. I just can't wait to meet the little guy/gal - and I can't wait for Jane to be able to rest properly again. It's not that she's been miserable or grumpy because of the baby cramping her style - I just feel it's been long enough now, she deserves her body back. Two…

I has job

Yes, that's right. After being unemployed for a very long time, I have gained employment at Asda, on the Home and Leisure department. I had no idea there was even a vacancy on the department until they mentioned it in the "Asda Magic" group selection thing I had last week. That in itself was pretty good fun - rather than…

I had an interview today, part 2

Remember this? I didn't get it. Fucksakes. It's all good though. The sun is shining, so I went for a nice long walk in the beautiful weather, picked up a couple of application forms for some more jobs, it cleared my head and my sinuses. And I found a pack of cigarettes in my bag when I thought I had…

I’m doing it wrong

Usually I’ve written my Sunday entry by now – I like to make notes of any ideas I have, or any exciting events there may have been during the week, and most times I actually write it ahead of time when the inspiration strikes. This week however, the only thing of note that has happened is that interview I had, but I’ve already covered that in a post of it’s own… So… I’m struggling to think of things to write about.

Oh, I remember something now, the Live Arcade game this week was Game Room (essentially a collection of demos for rubbish old games), and it was free. That sounds good, right? Free game – free Achievements. Not really very many achievements, but some, 80 G’s added to your Gamerscore for free, nonetheless. To get anywhere near the full 1000 you need to pay for the individual games, and considering they are mostly priced the same as proper Live Arcade titles, it’s a bit of a money-spinning exercise by Microsoft there. Did I mention the games are all awful? Well, one or two could be construed as “classic”, but they’re mostly dog-shit.

Something else I could mention is that I’ve been re-reading the Harry Potter books this month, I finished Deathly Hallows the other night and I’m slowly writing up my thoughts on them. Expect those posts early April.

I had a couple of comments today

So, you know that post I made yesterday about having a job interview? It's just below this one, scroll down a little. Well I got a couple of comments on it from some spambots (pretending to be natural and not come across as spambots). Here, read the first one: I really can’t understand some points of this post, but I…

New Deal is rubbish, I know this already

This was originally posted in the Bloggers section on the now-defunct Poopgang forum. Almost got the courses sorted out, had a couple of issues though... No-one at the college could find the guy I had to have a little interview with to make sure I'd chosen the right course, and the people at the Jobcentre were doing their best to…

Blood test results!

This was originally posted in the Bloggers section on the now-defunct Poopgang forum. Went to the Doctors yesterday, got my blood test results. I need to go and have an ultrasound done on my liver, apparently I have slightly raised something or other levels. Joy. Went back on the stronger anti-depressants as well, the 10mg ones didn't feel like they…
