Another Friday, another Random Game. This week? Red Rogue.
If you are at all familiar with the classic randomly-generated dungeon-crawler Rogue, then you’re in for a flash-based treat with this one. You explore a series of floors, each with an array of enemies inhabiting it, lots and lots of treasures, and a staircase that leads you further down. Find the staircase, go further down for more combat (which is very simple – all you have to do is walk into an enemy), more enemies, and more treasure.
You can equip a wide array of weapons and armour, and even change your minion to a different species. It’s very moreish, and it is ever egging you on to go deeper with the promise of more loot, more XP, more enchanting materials, and some shocking revelations (yes, there’s a story, although it can be missed if you’re not looking for it)… But do you dare? The layout of the rooms change, not just on every subsequent play-through, but also when you simply go up or down a floor – so you can’t get complacent.
Here’s the link once more, just in case you missed it: http://www.kongregate.com/games/st33d/red-rogue – if you like Rogue-likes give it a try. If you prefer action RPG’s then you should still give it a try because it caters for both preferences.
