Hello there. It’s Friday, so here’s a random game: Hanger 2. Although it’s not too random as I featured the first game in the series (Hanger) last week.
Ok, so this is what a sequel should be, what it should do. It improves upon the original in every single way. The music is much improved (whilst admittedly still forgettable), and the level design is nicely woven into the visual themes of each level. Speaking of the art direction, it has been taken to all kinds of extremes, from a psychedelic, abstract acid-trip of a level, to a journey through the insides of a fish; from a rain-streaked noir level to a black and pink level with a skull motif – no two levels are at all similar. And it’s not just the variety on show, but it looks so much better in general – the developer obviously upgraded their paint package and has been experimenting with the new filters and effects.
It’s still a basic 2D Spider-Man simulator, but it’s much more polished. Even the scoring mechanics have been overhauled and made more relevant. Here is the link again: http://www.notdoppler.com/hanger2.php – let me know what you think!
