As if it was not clear from the above title, I’m quickly running out of ways to combine the words “Friday” and “Update” in creative ways.
Ooh, it’s Friday the 13th – scary? I did kind of get really ill really suddenly last night whilst playing the RGF. I was up ’til 3am playing Hyperpath, which in itself, wouldn’t be a bad thing. But, little did I realise that I was coming down with a sore throat and the sweaty-shivers. Now, when I get ill, I tend to have really odd dreams that keep me awake. I know that if they keep me awake then I’m never asleep so they can’t really be dreams, but bear with me – they exist in that middle ground between waking and sleep, that hazy state early on in your quest for sleep where your thoughts are just starting to take a turn for the weird, but they still seem 100% normal to you. Anyway, when I’m ill I have these dreams that keep me awake, and they are roughly based on what I was doing before I tried to get to sleep. The earliest one I can remember was after playing Atic Atac – it was just lots of neon bugs moving in and out of rooms and I threw up in my mouth. The most messed up dream was after watching the video for Rez by Underworld, in which the black and white circles were competing to be front and centre of my mind. If you’ve seen that particular video, then you know what I mean. If not, here it is:
I managed to get to the bathroom that time. In the case of last nights Hyperpath dream, it was me trying to over-populate the planets by dragging over them all and then dropping everything on one planet repeatedly and it doing nothing. I just kept dragging and dropping but nothing ever happened – except it keeping me awake.
In other, blog related news, WordPress has only gone and updated itself – the back-end looks all modern and Windows 8-ish now. It’s a little off-putting right now, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it!
