Sunday was Jane’s birthday.
I slept very well, had a nice green tea in bed, then a bowl of Just Right and some delicious scrambled farm eggs on rustic wholemeal toast. The shower in our apartment was incredible – kind of sunk into the ground.
We went off to Cockington on this day, Cockington Court in particular. Jane downloaded a mystery walk off the internet and it was great fun traipsing around looking for clues. One of the routes had fallen into a pond though, so we did have to take a little detour at one point. And one of the clues was a bit too well hidden if you ask me – we were close to giving up.
I had my traditional holiday Coconut Ice, then we went to the delightful Rose Cottage tea-rooms for lunch, and they had a guy playing the piano sitting in a gazebo. They also had the code for the toilets printed on the receipt.
In the evening we had steak and watched Wreck-It Ralph. It was a good film. I also drank some random foreign lagers.
