Our Honeymoon – Day 1

Day one.

This started at home, early Saturday morning. Unlike previous holidays, where I’ve not really been bothered about getting up early on a Saturday morning ready to travel, I don’t tend to work stupidly early on a Saturday morning anymore, so getting up at 5 in the morning hurt. And it didn’t help that I did not sleep very well at all.

Anyway, I got my shit together, and was ready to depart on time. We stopped at Honiton, walked up and down their High Street, saw a shop called POWER SHOES. We continued on to the marble museum, which was the same as it was last time we visited it. Then we arrived at Bovey Tracey, they had a craft fair on there, but we decided that it was probably not good enough to warrant the price of entry, so we never went in. We did walk up and down the riverbank though, that was nice. We did a medium sized shop in a Tesco Express, and attempted to pay for it via a self-scan machine, which went horribly wrong, as we had alcohol and had too many bags to fit in the bagging area and it probably would’ve been quicker to go through a regular till.

The place we were staying at, Lurcombe Luxury Apartments, was very nice. Basically, it’s a farm nestled in the middle of a valley and you’re surrounded by grassy hills on every side. One of the barns has been converted into a couple of luxury apartments, which is where we stayed. It was furnished to a very high standard, and very cosy. I loved the green stripy arm-chair that had a companion foot-rest – I am campaigning to get one for our house, although I have no idea where we would put it.

Have some photographs of the days events.

We had spicy rice for tea (what is spicy rice? It’s basically just like mince and rice and vegetables with some spices in it, but it’s really nice and Jane makes it and it’s really yummy), and I had a couple of cheeky tequilas, we watched The Voice, and took the farm dogs for a walk.
