When we get a new cat I want to call it Richard Parker

If you hadn’t guessed by the title, I watched the incredible film Life Of Pi recently. I loved the book, and while the film was a little slow to start, the delightful Richard Parker more than made up for it. Although he was CGI, he was very life-like, and behaved how I would imagine a tiger would behave on a small lifeboat. The computer generated backgrounds and environments were also stunning, and very diverse given that the film was mostly set on a boat in the ocean. I have also recently watched Prometheus, which I thought was a bit rubbish, sadly. I don’t feel that it met my expectations – I was expecting an “Alien: Origins”, but instead got a random muscular blue guy. And Charlize Theron – hubba hubba. Speaking of the delightful Charlize, I also watched Snow White And The Huntsman, which I enjoyed a lot more than Prometheus.

And finally, I went to the cinema by myself and watched Star Trek: Into Darkness. The 3D was pretty cool, Benedict Cumberbatch was bad-ass, Zachary Quinto played a brilliant Spock, and some random blonde girl got her sweet abs out. I felt that the plot was a bit confusing in places, but it was a bit like Lost, in that some characters have knowledge and motivations that we, the audience, are not privy to at first, and by the time it comes around to address them, they are mostly irrelevant to the advanced plot, if you get what I mean. But it was a block-busting good time, for sure.

Oh yeah, before Star Trek started, there was a trailer for The Wolverine. It looked pretty badass. Being a Marvel kinda guy, really into the X-Men back in the day, I am well up for it. Then, directly after that, was a trailer for Man Of Steel. I’d love to say that I preferred the Wolverine trailer, but sadly, the Superman trailer was absolutely mind-blowing. Lots of high speed flying punches. I like high speed flying punches.
