I hit my target of 80,000 Gamerscore today. I had until the end of the year, but it was playing on my mind a lot, so I just decided to get it over with before Halo 4 hits. And there are a few other games I want to play for fun in the meantime too, such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution (so far, so very very good), Syndicate and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. Thanks to some God-awful (but ridiculously easy) games I made it. That’s not to say I hit the target just by playing the stupidly easy games. 2012 has been great for games so far, with Halo Anniversary, Halo Wars, Space Marine, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Limbo… All amazing experiences.
I hit the 80% completion back in May without really trying for it. I just finished up some older games that I’d missed some easy Achievements on. I think I’m on about 82% now. How high could I get? Something like 90-95% or higher would be impossible, surely. I may make such an impossible target, just so monitoring my progress becomes a little bit easier.
So, now that’s out of the way, do I make a new target now, or wait until the traditional January? How many points increase should I strive for with my next target? I hit 15k in 8 months, so is 30k realistic for 16 months? That’s if I set it now though. If I wait until January, then 20k over 12 months would be something to aim for?
Or – and get this – do I just not bother?
