On the second day, we went to Arriton Barn Craft Village. I bought a Coconut Ice, because they always seem to taste better on holiday. There were some cool Pirate statues, some fish and ducks in the pond, and an interesting shop that sold glass ornaments. We then went on to Amazon World, and we all touched a snake.
After that it was off to the Oasis Shop – I remember going there the last time we came over to the Isle of Wight. It’s just a shop full of knick-knack type stuff really. There was this large Doctor Who canvas painting/Photoshop creation, the last one, and this couple were considering buying it for their children. Jane decided that she should buy it for the boys, and just swooped in as they turned their backs, giving it to me to carry around as I look scary and they wouldn’t dare have a go at me for stealing their potential purchase from under their noses. On the way back to the chalet, Ethan spilt Fruit Shoot everywhere. That was fun.
In the afternoon we went swimming, then went back down to the beach. We investigated the woodland route this time, and I was semi-inspired by the pretty environment. I bought some flip-flops as the beach was a bit too stony for my liking, but they kept falling off and they hurt my toes slightly less than the stones hurt the soles of my feet. We saw some crabs, shrimps and anemones in the rock pools, played some frisbee, and Ethan “had bones” so he had to be carried up the insanely steep hill back to the chalet. Having bones is his way of saying he is tired and has no energy in his legs.
After tea we went to the dancing pub. They have an arcade there and everyone became obsessed with collecting tickets.
