I’ve been thinking about the “threat unlike anything the Master Chief has faced before”, and while shooting at actual, real Forerunners would be pretty cool, at the end of the day, they are aliens. The Chief has fought aliens before, The Covenant was 100% alien. Grunts? Alien. Elites? Alien. Hunters? Alien. What if this “new” threat is human? What if the threat of insurrection resurfaces?
We all know that mankind can’t be peaceful. Just watch the news.
