I spent yesterday trawling the high streets asking local retailers if they had any vacancies, handing out CVs and getting application forms. The highlight of the day was quite unrelated to that though. I went into the Fareham Co-op and asked for 40 Royals Lights (that’s two packs for all you non-smokers out there). She said “Ah, that’s the blue ones”, and put the two packs down in front of me and then asked for £5.15 – the price of one pack. I handed over my cash, put the two packs in my bag, got £14.85 change and quickly (but not too quickly) walked out of the shop.
It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it’s a total bonus.
