We had a BBQ on Saturday, and after all the meaty food was consumed, we went back out to the gently smouldering barbecue and roasted some Marshmallows in the darkness. Claire had to show me what to do, as it was the first time I had ever tried roasting marshmallows. They were quite tasty! The alcohol I had consumed earlier in the day made it easier to withstand the heat, so I could get my marshmallow really deep into the fire, make it golden brown, texture like sun.
Still not having any luck on the job front. Most places aren’t even acknowledging that they’ve received my CV and/or application form nowadays. I’m applying for around three jobs a week on average, and still getting nowhere. It’s a pickle. I’m kinda too qualified for a basic role, but don’t have quite enough experience for a higher one. We’ll get there eventually, I hope.
I’ve been mostly playing Halo 3 this last week, trying to get up to the Lieutenant rank in any playlist and thus unlock the corresponding Achievement before Halo Reach hits. Any other Achievements I pick up along the way are a bonus, my main aim is to complete the Road to Recon and get the armour. This also requires us to have another go at Endure in Halo: ODST. We’ve failed it twice before, so it should be third time lucky. First time we were hit by lag, the game was unplayable. Second time we got all the way to the very last Brute, but thanks to some very fluky Fuel Rod shots by the last Brute Chieftain, and Famine making ammo very scarce, we choked. Must have another go.
