We all thrive on stories

We all thrive on stories. We grow up on them, we tell ourselves them, we communicate with them, we shape our lives with them. Stories make the world go around, and stories are nothing without characters. So, a question:Who are the top 5 characters that shaped who you are now?— Jordan Casstles (@MrCasstles) August 11, 2018 Now, how could I resist…
Our Honeymoon – Day 6

Our Honeymoon – Day 6

We went to Torquay on day six. There was a lack of good shops and/or arcades - I distinctly remember there being a good arcade here a couple of years ago. We went on the big wheel this time, it was quite good to see the town from that angle. They were playing Daft Punk's Get Lucky while we were…

Our Honeymoon – Day 5

Day five was a proper chill day. We went to Dartington Shops, saw some cool artwork by a guy called Moose, went to a farm shop and bought some cheesecake, some ham, some cheese, some general farm goods, and made ourselves a ploughman's for lunch. We watched some Dexter, had paella for tea, then we spent the rest of the…
Our Honeymoon – Day 4

Our Honeymoon – Day 4

We had no eggs left on day four and it was a little bit rainy. This made me want to sadface all over the place, but then I remembered it was our Honeymoon, so I stopped being sad and went back to being awesome. We went to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth on this day, and they have a…
Our Honeymoon – Day 3

Our Honeymoon – Day 3

On Day 3 we finished off the last of the farm eggs (which tasted so much better than regular eggs it must be said), and went to Brixham. I like Brixham, it has a nice atmosphere, and a nice fishy smell to it. I drank too many random beers the night before, and I was hanging a little bit, so…

Just a quick one today

I finally convinced Jane to watch Dexter! We're only a few episodes in, but she's enjoying it, like I knew she would. It's great watching it from the start again. Halo: Reach is just immense. There's so much to do, so many bad guys to kill, Jane and I have been playing it at almost every free moment we've had.…

RFBW: Jeff Lindsay – Dexter

Darkly Dreaming Dexter This first book naturally sets up the basic premise: Dexter is a forensic scientist who works for the Police, and in his spare time he kills those killers who slip through the Police's net. Despite this, he is immensely lovable, partly thanks to the brilliant portrayal by Michael C. Hall in the TV series which I had…

Are you a pirate?

Do you pirate games? Do you illegally download music? Watch dodgy copies of films bought from suspect looking guys sitting on the high street? Do you regret doing any of this? Personally, I try not to pirate anything. Things like Spotify and last.fm are brilliant, I've got into quite a few artists that I probably wouldn't have otherwise and actually…

Hello again

First blog style post since we’ve got the ol’ WordPress up and running again.

What’s going on? Not much. I caught the 8 British minutes of the Olympics Closing Ceremony earlier. Sure, it wasn’t as spectacular as the parts choreographed by the Chinese, but it had a charm all of it’s own. The sheer spectacle of the Beijing opening and closing ceremonies would simply be too hard to match, let alone top, so London had better come at it from a different angle. I’ll be interested to see how it compares.

Right now I’m just waiting for Dexter on FX, starts in 15 minutes, after that I might go play some PSU.
