I think it is time for a fresh start. Time to draw a line under everything that has come before.
You see, I have been pre-occupied with transferring everything from the old community website to this one before I can do anything else, but to be honest, I don’t think anyone would notice if I never did. It was fifty short posts about Flash games that no-one ever read, and no clicks were ever registered from the links in the posts.
(Note: I found a super easy way to transfer them from one blog to another, so I did just that. You can find all the Random Game Friday posts here.)
I’m not going to bother devoting a post to each and every one of my YouTube videos – the content is already on YouTube, and no amount of me posting it here will ever gain it extra visibility. I’m not going to carry on with the Videogame Remix of the Week anymore either. As far as these things go, not doing them frees me up to do other things. Or more accurately, not doing those things frees me up to realise I’m not doing other things.
I’m going to update the pages at the top to fully reflect who I feel I am now, and maybe post once a month or so just to keep things ticking over (I might mention if I do a new video, but that’s it), but my priorities have clearly been elsewhere for a long time. I’m sorely tempted to go back and scrutinise every post, remove things like dead links and potentially hurtful remarks. No-one ever reads this blog, but I have noticed that I did once use it in the hope that certain people would read it, and that it would hurt their feelings when they did. I’m going to fix that. I’m not overly bothered that no-one reads this, in fact I always felt it was more for me to write than for anyone to read particularly. But I have since discovered that being truly free to write exactly what is on my mind is incredibly more beneficial to me, and biting my tongue on here and holding certain things back wasn’t really cutting it.
I’m going to make a new front page for this blog, one that links to all the other places on the internet you can find me like YouTube, DeviantArt, last.fm and places like that, as well as my projects for the future.
Bottom line: This website will remain. It will be a monument to all my sins.
