Hello once again. It’s time for another random game, and this week it is Take A Walk.
Take A Walk kind of combines the time-rewind mechanic of Braid with an auto-runner, but reduces both factors down so it becomes more of an experience than a traditional “game”. Sure, there is a points system like traditional games, but there are no fail-states. All in all, it’s just you, and you’re taking a walk.
The music is lovely, and once you have a feel for the controls and how weighty your jump is, you can cruise on auto-pilot and just enjoy the melodies as they accompany you on your walk. If you flawlessly jump over a lot of things in a row, birds fly down and join you as well. It’s a lovely experience, and makes you actually want to get up an go for a walk – such is the little man’s happiness towards the end.
