Bye, Ponds

Goodbye, Amy

You know, it’ll be a sad day when Amy and Rory stop travelling with The Doctor. They’ve brought some of the most hilarious Doctor Who comedy moments so far, and some really intense, dark and emotional resonances. I love how Amy is so feisty, it leads to some interesting confrontations with The Doctor. It was pretty funny how Rory died in pretty much every episode in the previous series, and how The Doctor even calls Rory’s Dad a “Pond”.

I also like how this newest series has focused on the Pond’s real-life, and how their Doctor-life interferes with it. Or is that the other way around? Will they leave simply because of them wanting a normal life, or will it be something more sinister? Ah well. All good things come to an end. It’ll be interesting to see how they do bow out. It’ll be a sad time for the blog too, as “Karen Gillan smoking”, “Karen Gillan barefoot”, and “Karen Gillan nude” get me loads of hits. It’s strange, as I don’t have any pictures of a naked Karen Gillan with a fag on the go on here, but I did once mention her and an insane person walking down the road with no shoes on in the same post. I also mentioned her in a post where I was talking about stopping smoking, or I may have commented that she is “smoking hot”. So while I kind of understand why people come here, they must leave very disappointed.

Looking past them leaving, I can’t wait to see how The Doctor rescues Jenna-Louise Coleman’s character. Will he go back in time and give her an adventure before she becomes a mad Dalek? Or will he somehow extract her from her Dalek body? It’d be interesting to have an ex-Dalek as a companion.

That’d be new.
