Yes he did. It was a very grand affair, they had hired out this magnificent barn in the middle of nowhere (Petersfield), and it was like something out of a fairy tale, it really was. The cake was huge, there were flowers everywhere, and it was just generally grand. I got to see my Mum, which was nice, as I think I’ve only seen her once or twice since we moved. There were also a lot of orange girls there – Is it really that hard for Fake Tan manufacturers to get the shade of brown right?
Still, I had too much to drink (5 pints in 3 hours) and not enough to eat (nothing since lunchtime – apparently there was going to be “nibbles” there, but I came across no such “nibbles”), so it shall forever be remembered as the time I got really drunk, really quickly, watched Top Gun and ate a bowl of chips really slowly, then spent the next two days muttering about how alcohol is very, very bad.
