Bomb A Bomb

Hello Friday, hello random flash game.

This week is a real treat. And by treat, I mean a decent idea executed to the best of this persons ability which is functional at best. And I don’t think English is this persons first language. It’s called Bomb A Bomb, and quite frankly, it’s a great idea with nice ambience, but it is so badly dependent on luck that it becomes an exercise in time spent and patience rather than skill and judgement. Advancing to the next level is simply a case of detonating a set amount of bombs in a chain reaction stylee – Sound simple? It’s fucking not.

Blow up grey bombs and shrapnel goes horizontally and vertically. Blow up a blue one and shrapnel goes diagonally. Red ones go out in all eight directions. If you hit a pink bomb with any shrapnel, the level is a fail and you have to have another go. Same goes for skull bombs, but skull bombs can be neutralized with angel bombs. The later levels are so full of bombs, both level-winning and level-failing, and they are moving so quickly, that it is pot luck whether you pass or not, and that is frustrating. I liked blowing things up, watching all the shrapnel fly off and hit other bombs, causing chain reactions all over the place, it was visually therapeutic – and reminded me of a less stressful Every Extend – But the pink bombs and skull bombs ruined it for me.

I should change the tag-line to “Random Fury! ~ Playing flawed games to completion so you don’t have to”
