It’s Friday and I feel like playing some random game. That means it’s Random Game Friday!
Up this week is Pizza Wizard – a nice little browser-based game involving tower defence which owes more to Missile Command than StarCraft. You stand atop your tower and waves of enemies approach you. If they touch you, thy game is over. Bad dudes range from orcs which trundle across the ground and then up your tower, to green bats which fly straight for you. Dragons fly overhead – green ones act as orc drop-ships, gold ones give you more points.
How do you defend yourself? With pizza, of course! Well, you are a Pizza Wizard, after all. Trace a line from your wizard outwards towards your enemies and a slice of pizza will follow it, killing any enemies it hits. Your pizza slices travel quite slowly considering they are magic, so you have to judge where your targets will be when the projectile arrives at it’s destination – hence the Missile Command reference earlier. Kill more than one enemy with one slice and get a combo. I’m not sure if combos work as multipliers, but killing as many creatures as possible certainly helps control those crowds. My best score was 1929 – can you do better?
